Moon manifesting…SORRY…it doesn’t work.

I taught yoga for 10 years. Even though part of me wanted to be more “celestial” in my teachings, I could never quite pull off the moon stuff. Full moons, new moons, moons in various atmospheric positionings, are a regular occurrence. Yet, it seemed to me that every single moon screamed “Now is the time! Wipe the slate clean! It’s your only chance to start over! Manifest EVERYTHING YOU’VE EVER WANTED!”

The message was always the same, and the outcome was also always the damn same. Nothing in my life ever seemed to change according to the moon.

Things changed according to ME. To how ready I felt for a shift.

Which, as you can see from my lifestyle, occurs relatively often.

A few years ago I decided to start my own business, hosting active retreats with Active Escapes International. I wanted to utilize my backgrounds in travel planning and yoga teaching to lead adventures all over the world. It seemed perfect.

It didn’t work out perfectly. More accurately, it didn’t work out at all.

I started writing.

I wrote and wrote and wrote and even though I got clients and columns…it didn’t cut it financially. I’ve been all but forced to move on from writing (for now) as my source of income. I will continue to write, of course, because I love it, but I need a day job. That little decision has given me lots of mental freedom to change the direction of my business. Instead of offering active getaways through Active Escapes International, I am now offering travel ideas and inspiration on my new website A Weekend Away In

What is it? It’s a travel blog of sorts. (UGHHH ANOTHER ONE. I know, I know.)

Still, it’s fun. I’ve got no specific goal in it. A Weekend Away In is basically a montage of my own favorite things to do for a weekend (or longer) in various places around the world. Mexico-heavy but not Mexico-only. I’ll be including more pictures and videos (all my own), so check back soon.

I’m also offering private trip planning services at a fee (from start to finish, anywhere you want to go, any length of time, any amount of people). If you want someone to plan all the glorious details of your romantic getaway to, I don’t know, Mexico/Colombia/Turkey/Italy/Laos, I can do it. If I can’t do it (rare), I can refer you to someone who can.

That’s it. That’s my big change with no moon-relation whatsoever. It feels good and free and light and happy and very right for me. More importantly, very right for YOU, I hope.

Here are my favorites:

A weekend away in Mexico City
A weekend away in Puebla City
A weekend away in Port of Veracruz

Feedback welcomed.

The (rambling) content of my love letters will stay the same, with links to recent travel-related articles and postings.

And, of course, my book! ORDER IT! It’s almost ready!! Wander Lust:
A sassy, sexy memoir of my journey from the unknown to the wild unknown.

With love,

Bethany

It’s kind of a stupid, unanswerable question, isn’t it?
